Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures Making a Direct Sequal to The Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Leatherface.

 Now with The “Saw” Franchise Coming to a End “Twisted Pictures”, and “Lionsgate” are Going to Try to Make Money Now By Making Sequals to an Already Established Horror Franchise. “Twisted Pictures”, and “Lionsgate” Got The Rights After “Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes”, and “New Line Cinema” Declined On The Opportunity to Make Another Sequal/Prequal to Their Remake of The Original Putting The Rights to The Characters, and Sequals Up for Graps Again (Reminds Me of What is Always Happening to Sequal Rights of “The Terminator” Franchise).

Adam Marcus.

 This New Sequal is Going to Being Directed, and Co Written By “Jason Goes to Hell” Director “Adam Marcus” Who is a Big Fan of The Horror Genre, and a Huge Gorehound (Just Check Out His Unrated Directors Cut of “Jason Goes to Hell”). This New Sequal is Going to Be a Direct Sequal to The Original “Tobe Hooper” Movie, and Shot in 3D (I Really Hate 3D Such a Stupid Fetish Directors are Using Again).

Their is Not Much Known About The Plot of This Sequal at This Point But What I Do is That It is Supposed to Take Place 35 Years After The Original with a Reletive of One of The Characters Going Back to Place of The Original Events.

I Have No Real Expectations On This Movie “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” Has Never Had a Line of Successful Sequals to Really Flesh Out The Characters of The Original Movie, or The Remake and The Storyline Has Never Really Been Build Upon But Hopefully This Movie Sets The Foundation for “The Texas Chainsaw Massarce” To Become a True Entertaining Franchise with Fleshed Out Characters, and a Really Developed Storyline.

Horror movies for your Halloween movie night.

Welcome All Vistors to This Blogs First Ever “Must See  Horror Movies for Halloween List” Written By This Blogs Very Own “Labruja78”. She is a Homegirl of Mine a Fellow “Cenobite” Traveling Thru The Corridors of “The Labyrinth” Experiencing Unknown Pleasures Who is a Huge fan of the Horror Genre with a Truely Unique But Very Interesting Point of View of Things in The Genre Which I Think Fans of The Genre Will Take Pleasure in.

I Hope You Enjoy The Post Which is The Dawn of Another Era in This Blogs History.

I’am new to writing on a blog but I hope you bare with me?! I fell in love with the horror genre when I was 8 hiding behind the couch hoping my mom wouldn’t catch me and I been a horror junkie since. haha Fall is my favorite season and Halloween is my favorite holiday. Around this time of year I become worse than a 2-year-old on a sugar high with decorating, costumes(like dressing my friends)movies, and Halloween treats. I am no horror guru(ask Alphaomega I constantly ask him “who played in this?” “the movies with?”)so if you have a movie or need to correct me as I post please comment. I would like to re-introduce or introduce old, underground or Bad B-rated horror movies. A review on movies or whatever catches my attention or when I feel the need to get on my soap box. lol I am a book-worm so maybe a book or Author or anything else of horror. I posted below Horror movies that every year in October in celebration of Halloween I watch myself. Around August I like looking for old movies or new movies that I like and get them together and have my own scare fest. I hope you enjoy my choices?! Happy Halloween.

Jack-o came out 1995 a low-budget comedy horror Directed by Steven Latshaw. Written by Brad Linaweaver, Patrick Moran, and Fred Olen Ray starring scream queen Linnea Quigley. A wizard was put to death but swore vengeance on the town , particularly the Kelly’s family. accidentally unleashed by teens jack-o has returned and young Sean Kelly must stop him.  If you enjoy bad B-rated horror like me you will be entertained with the bad acting and silly effects. For Halloween I find this movie a good choice.                                                                                                                                                                                                                Continue reading

New “Victor Garcia” Interview for “Hellraiser Revelations”.

"Pseudo Pinhead" Picture.

“Victor Garcia” The Director of The New “Hellraiser” Sequal Has Just Done a Interview with “Bloody Disgusting” About The Movie and It is Not  Disappointing He Gives Plenty of New Information About This Newest Direct to DVD Sequal.

Here is The Interview;

B-D: I have to ask about ‘Hellraiser: Revelations’ –

I actually delivered my cut today.

B-D: Oh, awesome. Well, I’ve seen photos of the new Pinhead, and I was just wondering if those are authentic or not.

Those pictures are real. The only problem with them is that somebody decided that it would be cool to Photoshop them and send them [to the press]. They spread like a disease, because obviously it’s not a regular sequel, it’s ‘Hellraiser’. And everybody was like waiting and hoping to take a look at the new Pinhead. So the answer is yes, those pictures are real, [but] the Photoshop work on them is not that good. I can tell you that Pinhead looks really cool.

B-D: So those photos don’t do the new Pinhead justice.

No, I’m not happy about the fact that those pictures were online. Those pictures weren’t approved by anybody…they just leaked online, and that’s not a good thing. Especially because Pinhead is something you want to treat with a lot of respect. Especially because the fans love Pinhead, and love Doug Bradley. And Doug Bradley became Pinhead for a whole generation. This is the first time that Doug is not playing Pinhead. He decided not to be involved in the project, so you know, we had to move with or without [him]…Gary [J. Tunnicliffe]’s script was basically an homage to the first ‘Hellraiser’ movie. Gary knows the franchise by heart. And I love the franchise. I mean, I was thirteen years old when I went to the movie theater and experienced ‘Hellraiser’. So I’ve been following the franchise for a long time, and I love it. I was not going to be involved in something that was disrespectful to the fans or to the franchise.

B-D: Do you know why Doug didn’t come back?

I have no idea…it was really fast…we had to work on our special effects, we had to go really fast. We had [very] few days to complete production. I just delivered my cut, so I’m waiting for them to get back to us with some notes, and hopefully everything’s gonna be done in the next month or so. So I was really under a lot of pressure…so I just learned that he was not gonna be able to do that, he was in the UK. Everything had to be done in such a short period of time, that probably he just couldn’t even do it, physically. It was like, ‘ok, we’re shooting this movie in two weeks, are you in?’ It’s like, ‘woah’. I said, ‘yes, of course I’m in, because it’s a Hellraiser movie.’

B-D: Right, how can you turn that down? So there’s a new ‘Pseudo-Pinhead’, can you talk at all about him?

Uh, no. I prefer not to talk [about it]. I know that Gary has already been talking a little bit about the plot. I can’t talk a lot about the plot. I’ve been asked from the studio not to give a lot of details. The only thing I can say about the story is that…I know there’s a huge concern from all the fans that are talking about it and saying it’s not gonna be a great movie. Which I completely understand, because a lot of people are waiting for a remake, in which you treat the franchise in the way it deserves. But what I can say is that…I’ve been keeping everything [effects-wise] practical, and that it’s as much a throwback as an ’80s feeling as I’ve been able to. And I’ve tried to make sure that that was the case, because I love ‘Hellraiser’. I just wanted to [give it the treatment] I think that it deserves. Even when we had a low budget and a short period of time to complete the movie.

B-D: Are you guys aiming for a theatrical release and is there a release date in mind?

Right now, this is something I don’t know. The studio hasn’t watched the movie yet. I’ve been trying to work with my editor and just trying to deliver the best cut of the movie…and hopefully this weekend they’re gonna watch the movie and they’re gonna be excited about it and they’re gonna come up with some plan. But so far they have no plan as far as I know.

B-D: You’re becoming known for directing sequels to already-established franchises, so I’m just wondering if there’s anything original you’re working on.

Sequels to remakes. [Laughs]…I have a couple of projects that are stand-alone, and developing some stuff on my own when they let me, because I’ve been…busy this year. But yeah, there are a couple of things…you need to have like seven projects on the table to be able to shoot one movie. So right now we are developing several things and trying to see what’s next. Hopefully not a sequel. I would like that.

Damn from What The Director Says in This Interview He Sounds Like One Hell of a Arrogant Guy Who Does Not Understand The “Hellraiser” Franchise. He Says He Understands About How Important “Doug Bradley” is to The “Hellraiser” Franchise Yet He Seems to Treat The Fact That “Doug” Did Not Wanna Be “The Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)” in This Movie as Nothing Important. Here is Another Thing That Angered Me How Could a Hardcore “Hellraiser” Fan Even Say How Cool He Thinks “The New Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)” is in This Movie Even if He Directed the Movie He Seems to Have Little Knowledge About Much of What “The Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)” is What “Doug Bradley” Puts Into The Character (Even a Novice Should Be Able to See That Just By Reading The Scripts).

But I Hope “Victor Garcia” was Not Just Giving Talking Points to The Fans About How Much He Loves The “Hellraiser” Franchise, and His Strong Intent to Make This a Good Movie Only to Get Hype Going for The Movie to Increase The Sales of This Sequal Because He Seems to Bragging Like This is The Best “Hellraiser” Sequal Out of Them All Which I Highly Doubt, and I Think This Type of Hype Could Seriously Backfire. I Hope “Victor Garcia”  was Able to Translate That Intent and Love for The Franchise (If It’s Not All Bull) Into On Screen Quality Because This Movie is Going to Need All The Help It Can Get.

New “Gary J. Tunnicliffe” Interview for “Hellraiser Revelations”.

Gary J. Tunnicliffe Applying Makeup tp Doug Bradley.

“Gary J. Tunnicliffe” The Writer, and The Lead Special Artist of “Hellraiser Revelations”  The Latest Sequal in The “Hellraiser Franchise” Has Just Done a New Interview with “Shock Till You Drop” Where He Talks About The Story, The Cenobites, and The ReCasting of “The Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)”. He Does Not Say a Lot New Information About “Hellraiser Revelations” in This Interview But You Can Tell He Really Tried to Make a “Hellraiser” Movie That The Fans Will Like.

Here is The Interview;

Shock Till You Drop: What can we expect here story-wise? A stand-alone tale similar to past Hellraiser sequels or something that might tie in story-wise to the first three or four (which had a bit of a connection to one another)?

Gary Tunnicliffe: This is very much a “stand alone” tale, however, unlike a lot of the previous Hellraiser sequels this was written purely as a Hellraiser movie, this wasn’t another screenplay that was shoe-horned into a Hellraiser movie by adding a couple of scenes with Pinhead.
The story was actually originally conceived as a potential “remake” idea, I pitched it after a dream I had. It’s a much smaller story, more akin to the first movie, more intimate, more about “desire” and playing more with the idea that maybe it’s humans who are the real monsters and not the cenobites. The only connections to the first movie really are Pinhead, the Box, the Vagrant and the mythology surrounding them.

Shock: Clarify what the story is about because we haven’t received anything “official”?

Tunnicliffe: Well, obviously I don’t want to give too much away but the story centers around a dinner party held by one of the families of two late teenage boys who ran away and went missing in Mexico. Strange video footage and items were found at their last known location, but nothing has been heard from them for over a year. The dinner party is filled with tension and strange revelations. But the evening takes an even more bizarre turn when one of the boys – beaten, bloodied, exhausted and terrified – turns up. Relief and joy are mixed with a myriad of questions and concerns and soon a mass of secrets, hidden agendas and evil truths take us on a journey into the bizarre and terrifying world of Pinhead and the Cenobites.

Shock: Compared to the sequels in the latter half of the franchise, how “true” of a Hellraiser film is this going to be and how big a part does Pinhead play in it?

Tunnicliffe: Again, I think this is much more of a Hellraiser movie than some of the other sequels because it was written solely as Hellraiser movie. In regard to Pinhead and the Cenobites I’ve always held a strong belief that they are the “frosting on the cake.” Those brief moments with him – and the other Cenobites – in the first films were so strong that they captivated you, but the story itself was what drove the movie. In some of the later movies they tried to do too much with the Cenobites and just like a cake with too much frosting…the balance wasn’t right and it was a bit sickly. I think it’s difficult, because as the writer of a Hellraiser film you have to have Pinhead and you want him to talk – so you can write some if that delicious Pinhead dialogue that Mr. Barker and Mr. Atkins started in the first two films. But I think he also has to be pro-active, he has to do something to get his hands dirty or he runs the risk of becoming a monologing James Bond Villain. It’s a very difficult balancing act and at this stage you’re also battling “the law of diminishing returns.” The audience knows him, are familiar with him, have him on their t-shirt so how scary is he? Hopefully we got the balance right, not too much, not too little… a little talking and lot of, well, you know!

Shock: You’ve done Pinhead make-up on yourself, but was it a bit surreal to lay it over someone’s face other than Doug Bradley’s?

Tunnicliffe: I was actually saved from that surreal experience as I was busy working for Wes Craven on Scream 4 during the shoot of Hellraiser:Revelations. I was able to supervise the majority of FX over the Internet and over the phone and Mike Regan and my crew took care of everything. For the actual application of the Pinhead make-up I turned the duties over to a good friend and excellent make up artist Richard Redlefsen. Truthfully, I don’t know if I could have applied it anyway, it might have been just too weird and I would have simply missed Doug too much!

Shock: What can we expect cenobite-wise and make-up wise?

Tunnicliffe: Hopefully, the biggest thing we achieved and you can expect is consistency, the budget was incredibly low, I put all of my screenwriting fee into the FX and I had to ask my crew to work for reduced rates just to create what was needed and maintain a look that was as good as the other films in the franchise. Cenobites are inherently expensive, they are multiple-pieced, complex, detailed make-ups and the costumes are very expensive – luckily I had some items in my own personal collection that really helped cut costs and keep the quality high. But you can expect at least three full Cenobites – including Pinhead – a skinned character and host of make-up FX.

Damn Hearing His Description About The Plot Made The Movie’s Plot Sound Like Just Another Remake of  The Other Straight to DVD Sequals I Hope It’s Not True and They Did Not Waste This Opportunity to Really Make Truely Original Sequal That Really Adds to The Franchise. But One Thing That Seems to Be a Sure Thing is That The Cenobites are Going Back to The Higher Quality of The Original 2 Especially Since He Put All The Money He was Paid for Writing The Screenplay into The Special Effects and in His Screenplay It Seems That He Gave Them a Good Amount of Actual Invovlement in The Plot. The One Thing That Stood Out in The Interview for Me was That He Did Not Seem to Like The Decision for “The Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)” to Be Recast in This Movie Either I Wonder if  He was Offered The Opportunity to Rewrite The Script Knowing “Doug Bradley” was Not Coming Back as “The Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)” Would He Cut Out That Character and Replace Him with Another Cenobite.

“Lies at The End of The World” Book Review.

Lies at The End of The World Book Cover.

When I was First Offered The Opportunity to Review This Novel I Originally was Not Going to Review It Because I’am Not a Big Fan of Zombie Novels But When I Read The First Few Chapters to Read Which I Extremely Enjoyed It Changed My Decision and I Could Not Resist The Offer.

This Novel Has Such a Strong Old School “George Romero” Vibe to It That It Seems Like It Could Actually Be Based Off of a Script to a UnFilmed Zombie Movie From The Legendary Director. But This is By No Means a Rip Off of “Romero’s” Movies But a Completely Original Novel with The Same Kind Focus on Characters, and Quality of Plot That Made “Romero’s” Movies So Damn Good and Entertaining.

The Plot is a Mix of Horror, Action, and Drama Which is a Mix of Elements That I Rarely See Done Right in The Horror Genre Like a American Porn Movie That is Also a Strong Action Movie. I Thought Those Elements Were Mixed Together Perfectly Here Where The Drama, or Action Does Not Ruin The Suspense of The Horror. But One of The Things that Stuck in My Mind About The Plot was The Character Development Which I Thought was One of The Most Impressive Here Not One of The Characters Were UnderDeveloped.

Here is The Plot;

“John Frank” a Man Who’s Only Focus for Most His Life Has Been Preparing for The End of The World in a Fortified Country House Away From The City. But When a Zombie Apocalypse Sweeps Across North America It Puts His Planning to The Test in Reality. Hiding safely in His Attic in His Fortified Country Home Thinking He is The Only Survivor But is Euphorically Surprised When Another Survivor Crosses His Path a Young Beautiful Women Named “Rachael Evans”. Together These Two Survivors Navigate Life in This Post Apocalyptic World Where Survival is Pitted Against Hope.

The Characters in This Novel are Very Fleshed Out and Bound to Reality and Not Out of This World Cartoons Like a Lot of Characters in The Zombie Genre. Most of The Characters Here a Person Has seen in their Daily Lives Like The Resourceful Beautiful Chick Who Wastes Her Abilities But is Capable of Far More, or The Weirdo with No Friends and Most Likely Has Never Had Many Friends. One Thing About The Characters is Despite Them Being in a Completely Unreal Situation Their Everday Experiances While They Try to Survive in Their New Reality are Always Down to Earth and Familiar to Most People.

The Lead Character “John Frank” is Your Usual Everyman Except for His Unusual InExperiance of Everyday Experiances. Which I Think is a Good Thing Here Because It Gives The Reader More of a Opportunity to Sympathize with This Character Because He is First Experiancing This Post Apocalyptic Zombie Filled World of The Novel Like The Readers.

“Rachel Evans” “John Frank’s” Lover and Companion is a Beautiful Blue Eyed Blonde Who is Very Resourceful But Impulsive and Could Kick Ass Whenever It is Necessary. In Her Life Before The Zombie Apocalypse She was a Normal College Student Who Liked to Party The Usual Beautiful College Woman a Person See’s at Any Mall.

One of The Coolest Characters in This Whole Novel in My Opinion is “Mercutio” The Zombie Eating Bear I Think Everybody Who Reads The Novel Will Like Him. When He First Shows Up He Just Eats The Remains of Zombie’s Who Have Already Have Been Returned to The Grave But Later He Whenever He See’s A Zombie He Stands On His Hind Leg’s Ready to Tear Them to Pieces  I Have Never Heard or Seen Any Creature Like This in Any Other Zombie Book or Movie But I Wish There Was.

I’am Not Going to say Much About This Next Character But I Will This Watch Out for “Peter Van Aalten” He is Not Just Important to What Happens Later in The Story But He Also Does Something That is So Damn Funny But Stupid I Think It is One of The Most Memorable Moments of The Novel and If You are a “Romero” Fan It Will Remind You a Lot of a Character in “Romero’s Day of The Dead” Does.

There are More Interesting Characters I Could Talk About But I’am Not Going to Ruin The Surprises in The Novel For Everbody. But I Do Have One More Thing to Say About The Characters There is Always Something About Each One That You Will Find to Be Interesting Even If Their Role is Small in the Plot.

Now Finally On to One of  The Most Important Aspect of a Zombie Movie, or Novel The Action Which is Pretty Damn Intense in Here. The Action in Here Starts Out Slow But Begins to Build in Momentum and Does Not Ever Lose Any of It’s Momentum Which Really Adds to The Horror.

The Blood & Guts in Here are Just as Good as You Would Expect From a Novel of This Quality The Descriptions of Zombies Eating Flesh are Incredible and The Descriptions of The Zombies Themselves are so Good You Think are Smell The Rotting Flesh.

The Zombies in Here Follow The Classic “Romero” Rules of The Triliogy These Zombies are Old School Walkers That They By The Destruction of Their Brain and The Infection Spreads By Being Bitten or Nicked in Anyway By a Zombie.

I Give This Novel a Rating a Rarely Give to Any Book, or Movie 10/10 This Novel is a Damn Good Read Really Worth The Purchase Any Real Horror Fan Should Definitely Get This Book.

One Picture, and One Concept Art of Either The New “Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)”, “Pseudo Pinhead”, or Both.

“Hellraiser Revelations” Has Finally Wrapped Up and There are Already Footage Leaks Like These Two Pictures (One a Concept Art) Who Could Either Be “The New Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)”  Being Brought to The Flesh By a New Actor to The Role “Stephan Smith Collins”, or His Worshipper “Nico”/”Pseudo Pinhead” Who is Being Brought to The Flesh By Actor “Jay Gillespie”.

Here are The Pictures;

"Pseudo Pinhead", or "New Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)" Picture.

"Pseudo Pinhead", or "Lead Cenobite (Pinhead)" Concept Art.

My Guess is That It is “Nico/Pseudo Pinhead” in The Picture Because of The Facial Structure After Seeing Again Both of “Jay Gillespie” Picture, and “Stephen Smith Collins” Picture Here On My Blog That I Put On Earlier Post
